At Big World Treks we are currently fundraising for R Charity. The R Charity raises funds to enable the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Royal) to provide the best possible health care to their patients from Merseyside and surrounding regions.
The charity aims to ensure care at the Royal is the very best, by enabling Doctors and Nurses to have the latest state of the art equipment to achieve the best possible patient outcomes, and by providing an environment where staff, patients and their families recieve the best experience, achieved through supporting the development of the new Liverpool Royal Hospital.
As many who support or embark on expeditions with Big World Treks have connections to Healthcare, this is an important charity to support.
Big World Treks we also work in partnership with FareShare. This is the UK’s longest running food redistribution charity born out of the belief that no good food should go to waste, especially when people are going hungry.
FareShare Merseyside redistributes surplus food to over 219 charities and community groups working with vulnerable people across Merseyside. Based in Speke, their reach includes breakfast clubs, women’s refuges, homeless hostels and luncheon clubs for older people.
