Everest Base Camp

2 days transit, 1 days sightseeing, and 14 Days trekking to Kala Patthar and the Base of Everest, to an altitude of 5,545m. 

May is the summit season for Mt Everest and it’s Base Camp at 5,456m is teaming with mountaineers, over-populated yet desolate, with spyglass views of adventurers plodding progress upwards. Everest Base Camp is a wonder all of its own. Our trek will be less hectic but just as rewarding with the short additional trek to Kala Patthar for the definitive view up the Khumbu Glacier to Base Camp and the awe-inspiring Summit of Mt Everest.

Brief itinerary

  • Day 1 – Depart the U.K.
  • Day 2 – Arrive Kathmandu, visit town and markets of Kathmandu
  • Day 3- Our adventure now starts with an early morning flight to Lukla (2,820m/45mins) & trek to Phakding
  • Day 4 – Phakding to Namche Bazaar (O/nt Altitude 3,440m/ 6hrs approx.)
  • Day 5 – In Namche Bazaar today is for acclimatisation to the high altitude
  • Day 6 – To Tengboche (O/nt Altitude 3,860m/6hrs approx.)
  • Day 7- To Dingboche(O/nt Altitude 4,4000m/6hrs approx)
  • Day 8 – In Dingboche a second acclimatisation day, with optional hikes to Nagajun Hill (approx. 5,050m)
  • Day 9 – To Lobuche (O/nt Altitude 4,950m/6hrs approx.)
  • Day 10 – To Everest Base Camp (5,367m) & returning to Gorakshep (O/nt Altitude 5,160m/9hrs approx.)
  • Day 11 – To Kala Patthar (5,545m) & Pheriche (O/nt Altitude 4,240m/6hrs approx.)
  • Day 12 – To Namche (O/nt Altitude 3,860m/4hrs approx
  • Day 13 – To Phakding and Lukla (O/nt Altitude 2,700m/6hrs approx.)
  • Day 14 – Day in hand for bad weather in Lukla
  • Day 15- Lukla to Kathmandu
  • Day 16 – Kathmandu sightseeing day
  • Day 17- Depart Kathmandu for the UK
  • Day 18 – Arrive back in the UK
